Summer school for students from the USA

In June 2016, the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice is organising a summer school for 11 students from Armstrong State University, Savannah, Georgia, USA.

The focus of the school is, as was the case of the two previous schools in the years 2012 and 2013, primarily on political science – the development of Europe after 1989 -- and on criminal law and the law of the European Union. The lectures will be delivered by academic staff of the Faculty of Economics and the Pedagogical Faculty.

The Faculty of Economics, under the auspices of Dr. Rudolf Hrubý, the head of the Department of Law and Humanities, who is responsible for lecturing on the Law of the European Union, is organising a visit to proceedings and to the custodial jail in České Budějovice.

The participants will be invited to an official dinner with the emeritus vice-rector Doc. Dagmar Škodová Parmová and they will also be received by the regional council president and other representatives of the Region of South Bohemia. During their stay, the students will participate in a university campus tour, visits to the city of České Budějovice and the town of Český Krumlov, to the castle at Hluboká nad Vltavou and to the Budvar brewery. At the end, they will also visit the Czech capital city of Prague.
